Wordpress Static Template Design

I have a blog at www.whatisluciddreaming.com. I need to have a static page designed and created as HTML/CSS to replace the current home page. I don't really have any other direction at this stage. Key points are that the HTML must be clean and professional, use divs, and validate on a markup check and look the same in all major browsers (IE, Safari, FF, Chrome). I do not really have any idea or specific direction for the design. Please feel free to show items from your portfolio and make any suggestions that you may think are appropriate. I may reject the first design layout or two, and then refine the layout and make changes somewhat until we arrive at a design that I am happy with so please bid accordingly. Thank you!
