Wordpress plugin help needed

We are using a plugin called motopress-hotel-booking, this plugin is not translated to Danish, but provides the option to do so via a .pot/ .po and a .mo file. Every time i add this file to the ftp: the complete translation goes bad and nothing makes sense. My guess is that is has something to do with the special letters we got in Danish (ÆØÅ, æøå) and the encoding of the .pot/ .po and a .mo file. I added the pot and mo files to the project for you to see, i also added the website link below.
