Hi I’m Carter, a self-taught software engineer at Cisco Systems. When I first started to learn programming, I started with python making web scrapers using Beautiful Soup, Selenium, and Scrapy. I needed something fun yet challenging to keep myself intrigued. As a fellow golfer, I understand your issue trying to get a decent tee time. I once created a bot to do something similar for the Pinehurst golf course in NC to help my dad. I set my scraper up on a server and had it run all day, watching the Pinehurst site for times my dad wanted. With 5 years of professional development experience, I have built hundreds of scrapers for my personal and professional life. From scraping simple SPAs (single page applications) made by your local PTA to large, complicated sites like Facebook. Where developers are proactively working to stop scrapers, and not only in Python. Coding is a skill I have fell in love with cultivating, so whenever I get the chance to skill up or learn something new, I jump on it. I have multiple projects scraping in Python but also JavaScript using frameworks like puppeteer. The thing I like about puppeteer and JS scraping is how easy it is to make a scraper seem like an actual user. Something that will be very useful in getting you the perfect tee time. Hey there! I have made some Selenium bots before, I have lots of experience with C, C#, JavaScript, Python so this should be pretty simple. Likely this would only be a matter of logging in through a bot, using a securely (Encrypted) password, finding the most appropriate tee time for you through some kind of scoring we can figure out via chat (Favorite days, unavailable, non-preferred but okay, that kind of thing!) , making the bot click the right buttons in the website and then sending a confirmation email, or just an informative "Here's your tee times for this week" kind of thing.
