Personal Finance Budget Software - This is a very simple project for a programmer who knows what they are doing

**Overview:** This software allows users to analyse their personal spending against a budget for a specified period of time (eg. weekly, fortnightly, monthly etc...) **Input:** Users would set budgets (daily, weekly or/and monthly) for the amount of money that they intend to spend for a certain category. Default categories would be provided (eg. groceries, entertainment, mortgage payments etc... also users will have the ability to create their own categories) for their input. At the end of each day, users of this software would input the actual amount of money that they have spent within each category. There should also be comment fields for users to write a brief descriptions of what they have spent their money on. This information will then automatically be transferred to a database of some sort. **Output:** Users should be able to have a look at how much they have spent at a particular point in time (or over a period of time) and compare this amount to the budget that they have set. The software should inform users of the categories in which they have overspent. The software should also provide users with the ability to create mini-reports that allows the users to analyse their spending pattern so that they can adjust it in future to avoid cashflow problems. Additional features such as graphs would also be ideal for users as it will provide users with a snapshot of their spending habits. ## Deliverables **Standard requirements as listed below are to be met: **1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). **Additional deliverables:** 1) Software has to be delivered by 8pm Wednesday, 18th February, Australian Eastern Standard Time. 2) Software must be compatible within a Windows Operating System/Environment 3) Software must be user friendly. In other words, users should be able to easily navigate through software. 4) Software must present well to users. In other words, input screens, report functions, analysis functions, graph functions should look (aesthetically) and present a very nice and professional image. 5) Users must be able to analyse their spending at any point, whether it is for a particular date or a period and for a particular category or entire category. Hence, there must be an area where users can type in requests for the information that they would like to see. Example 1: Jane Smith wants to know whether she has, in total, spent above or below budget for the month of May 04. Jane Smith wants to know which areas (eg. food, health expenses, plumbing costs) which she has over/underspent for the first 2 weeks in June 04. Jane smith wants to know how much she spent on the 15th of May, and she wants to know what she spent it on and whether she exceeded her budget on those items etc.......... 6) Users should be able to select generic software generated reports for each month that provides them with an overview of their spending for each broad category. They can then go into item (5) - paragraph above - and do perform more detailed analysis. 7) Users must be able to generate graphs from the data (eg. line graphs, trend lines, bar graphs etc... for a particular or several items over a selected period of time (as determined by the users) 8) Software must provide users with the ability to input and store their spending data for at least 15 years. Users must also have the ability to update the dates on the software to allow them to capture current data. **more detailed information will be provided to successful bidder.
