337712 Delete data between tags

I have a file that is structured like an XML file. The file is a text file. In one of the tags, each item has unneeded data. The data starts with (this is just an example, and each bracket should be a parenthesis): [div class='unique'] The data ends with (this is just an example, and each bracket should be a parenthesis): [[!--div ends here--]] Those are just examples and it shouldn't matter what the opening and closing tags are. They should work with any tags, so keep that in mind when thinking of a solution. However, in each item, there is only one line that has the exact phrase as the opening and closing tags, so it will not be a problem. Your objective is to delete the data between the opening and closing tags in each item. This needs to be done in PHP and needs to work on a shared server, where the user will more than likely not be able to control the [login to view URL] file. Also, I am not wanting to delete an XML tag (for example, title, pubDate) or its content. It's just regular text. This script should work with any two sets of text that I want to work with, even if it happens to be XML. I should be able to change what text I want to delete at any time. Thanks.
