Solve speed issues of website

Assignment: do something about the speed issue of our site. Some urls of our website are loading slow on some browsers. Loading one particular url even takes up to 15 seconds. During that time the site disappears a few seconds before reappearing (in IE7). This is very unwanted behaviour from a visitor perspective. We want you to 1)Make analysis (and quick report) of what is causing the slow response. 2)Fix it. For the moment I see multiple options: - increase the speed by improvement of the code (1st preference) - increase the speed by doing modifications on the userinterface (2nd) - install sandboxes (or similar) to indicate that the page is loading (3rd) Please send me PM for urls and specific details on the problem.
