Autonomous Flight - Image Recognition Drone

In order to fly and follow/head to a certain target, you need to first recognize it (which can be done as example by Yolo ), then visually tracking the result using a computationally low-effort algorithms (like Correlation tracking filters, which proves to be good from drones or SIFT matching algorithm,..etc). Objectives: 1 - detect object in video(person, car, kids etc) 2- Track them from footage 3- Make drone fly over them, Real Life Issues: Drone footage from above specially during (Search and Rescue ) means images will/might have debris, broken houses, roofs, trees fallen etc, which creates occlusion and its hard to get images with out occlusion, secondly , people down on ground may be wounded , smitten with mud and dirt, which further creates a problem as background and foreground both get merged. We have done work on Camouflage detection / object tracking and other heavy Duty works in machine leaning. Given the scope of project, I think its challenging to the limits, on account of following reasons: 1- Do we have enough training images for detection purpose, are those images simulated or real ones replicating the Ground Truth. 2- There can be instance of Fire in Jungle, buildings etc where smoke creates problems too, I think project needs a serious thought on these angles, let me know what you think, and we can take it from there.

I would like a small fixed wing drone with image recognition. I would like the drone to be able to recognise a person or a vehicle and be able to autonomously fly to the person/vehicle without being controlled by a pilot. The drone itself is not important at this time, it can be in any fixed wing airframe.
