Hi, I've worked on Twitter Dataset for text classification before and the task is pretty straightforward. It can be completed within a day + plus a buffer has been added for any additional changes or delays. I would suggest a Naive Bayes or Decision Tree but would like to test out multiple other classifiers to get you the best accuracy here. The steps would Natural language processing to clean out the tweets, remove stop words and also building a TF-IDF matrix. We could also look at a standard bagging approach as well. The code will be done in python and will use packages like sklearn and nltk. I would apply a cross-validation over the complete to get you the best accuracy and test this on real-time data if possible. Please let me know if you need additional information.
