Project Brief: Web Application for Organizing and Managing Digital Media Overview We are seeking a talented UI/UX designer to develop a web application that facilitates efficient organization and management of digital media. This project will focus on creating three core pages: Media Gallery, Media Viewer, and Media Upload. The application will enable users to seamlessly browse, view, and upload digital media, making the user experience intuitive, visually appealing, and optimized for desktop use. Project Goals The primary objective of this project is to build a functional web application with three essential pages: Media Gallery, Media Viewer, and Media Upload. These pages will enable users to effortlessly organize, explore, and add new digital media to their collection. The design should emphasize user-friendliness and an aesthetically pleasing interface. Resources and Relationships The web application will primarily revolve around the following resources: Files: These are top-level media items containing digital media such as images, videos, and animated GIFs. Available data includes a List of Posts, a list of similar Files, and relevant tags. Persons: This top-level resource links to multiple Files, establishing connections between individuals and associated media. Available data includes a List of Files, Persons Alias, and metadata (e.g., date of birth, etc.). Posts: Belonging to a File, each File may have multiple posts. Available data includes posted time, title, and various metadata. It is important to note that not all Files are necessarily associated with a person, and there might be instances of duplicate Files, such as two Files featuring the same image but stored in different formats like JPG and PNG. Pages The web application will consist of the following three pages: Media Gallery: A visually engaging page allowing users to browse and explore their digital media collection effortlessly. Users should be able to sort and filter media for a smooth navigation experience. Media Viewer: This page provides users with a larger, detailed view of selected media. Users can access additional information about the media and easily switch between different items. Media Upload: A user-friendly page that enables users to upload new digital media items to their collection. The upload process should be straightforward and intuitive, allowing users to add relevant metadata and tags. Design Guidelines Intuitive Navigation: Ensure seamless navigation between the three pages, enabling users to access different functionalities with minimal effort. Consistent Layout: Maintain a cohesive and uniform layout across all three pages to provide a consistent user experience. Media Focus: Highlight digital media content as the central element of the application, drawing attention to the media items themselves. Efficient Organization: Design intuitive methods for users to manage and sort their media, such as categorization or tagging options. Desktop-Optimized: The application will be designed exclusively for desktop use, ensuring a delightful experience on larger screens. Visual Appeal: Create a visually stunning interface that complements the nature of digital media, enhancing the overall user experience. Deliverables The UI/UX designer will be responsible for delivering the following items: Wireframes: Low-fidelity wireframes for each of the three pages (Media Gallery, Media Viewer, and Media Upload) to visualize the layout and structure. Mockups: High-fidelity mockups illustrating the final design for desktop views, showcasing the visual elements and interactions. Additional Information This project will focus solely on developing three essential pages: Media Gallery, Media Viewer, and Media Upload. Login, user registration, landing, and about pages will be excluded from this iteration. The goal is to create a walking skeleton with core functionalities related to media organization and management.
