Respectfully, I do not believe that this project can be done with that radar sensor that you reference. There are two challenges: 1) that sensor when it triggers on motion stays in an active “just detected motion” for 5 seconds, so during that period you will miss detection of other people passing by and 2) that sensor can only detect motion, it cannot differentiate between a cyclist vs a pedestrian.
I would recommend a video based solution, vision processing system could detect difference between cyclists and pedestrians, and could sample a passing person event that is only half a second in duration. A cyclist going by at only mild speed would pass through the field of view in less than a second.
So i placed a bid that is outside your budget, and likely won’t win. I’m just warning you that anyone claiming to solve this problem with the sensor that you list should address those issues with you before you make payment. Also that sensor has a limited range of detection to about max 5 meters. That is probably acceptable to you based on what your interface panel design, but be aware that inside that range, the sensor will only detect a single person moving and for 5 seconds after detection, no other movement will be detected.
I have 20+ years engineering experience. I can tell you that your project is a bit difficult to do. Only video is going to allow differentiation between peds and cyclists. Video processing technology has come a long way in past 10 years.
