I registered with Freelancer in February last year and have 57 reviews, all positive. English is my first language and my skills include technical writing, editing and proofreading. I have been a volunteer in the disability sector with PHAB (Physically Handicapped & Able Bodied). I have had some experience both producing and editing PowerPoint slides. My recent freelance work has included proofreading six theses on a variety of subjects, as well as individual chapters of academic writing. For two years I was a copy editor for Elsevier Science Publishers in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, rewriting text by authors who were not native English speakers. I have worked with individual clients to bring 15 books to publication and three of these clients have rehired me to work on a second book. Having been a teacher of English in high school for four years, I have spent many hours making corrections and suggestions for students' essays. For an additional two years I was a teacher of English as a second language.
