The reason that I need the javascript at all is that I have to pass a lot of variables to another screen without using an html form. Passing the data via a query string works except for the situation where there is an ampersand (&) in any of the data. That confuses the browser and causes the link to crash. If I can pass all the data via session variables, it will be very easy to pick up the info in the second screen.
