We're looking for someone to design and develop our newspaper website. We'd prefer the site be developed in Drupal or another open source CMS, but will consider all options. The structure and design we'd like to have is close to [login to view URL] particularly the structure and design behind the front page. Advertising and all content would be reqularly updated by us. Individual story pages would also include advertising down the right side. Advertising would likely be uniform within sections (say news) but may be specific to each section. Older stories would need to be "pushed back" (in a similar format to the expressandstar site). Features We would require an image gallery. Ultimately, we'll be posting thousands of photos, so organisation will be imporant. We would like a local business directory (reader could search for builder, accountant etc). We'd like reader comments, with users to log in first. We'd like an events calendar. It would be nice to have an interface that pulls our classified advertising from our newspaper onto the site, but this is not essential. At the back end, we're hoping for a system that will be relatively user-friendly and certainly well-organised, bearing in mind that over time the number of stories and images will reach thousands.
