Setting up SQL reports

Hello. This is Genti from Maida Vale. I am a Senior Data Developer and Reporting Analyst. I am specialized in T-SQL (Microsoft version of SQL, running on SQL Server), SSRS (older brother of PowerBI, developed always from Microsoft) and Excel/VBA. I have implemented reports in Power-BI, but I wouldn't say that I am an expert in this tool. Also, If my assumption is correct and you don't have a Tech&Data department and many stakeholders requiring reports, I am not sure I would suggest you to use it extensively in the beginning. If allowed, the first thing would I do is create all the data rules and constraints in SQL Server (those are rules in the tables that force users to, for example, use dates or numbers instead of strings when those are required). I would also keep note of potential "bad practices" and write some documentation on what I found (and changed) and why might not be great. Fixing the queries and creating the views will be a fast work depending on two factors: the number of queries/views and the clarity of the requirements. I would also have a lot of fun eventually setting up a Power-BI environment for you and enhancing my knowledge on this tool. Against the "common suggestion" of many experts in this period, I would also share some knowledge on some sometimes unknown wonders of excel :) Warm regards Genti P.S.
