Hello
Most of my medical proofreading is highly confidential, but some samples can be provided, but not attached here.
I have only been with Freelancer for 10 months so I can’t top the number of reviews - but my ‘repeat hire rate,’ is already over 30% higher than my nearest competitor. That says a lot!
Proofreading and editing require 100% accuracy - there is no room for errors. Whether it is a leaflet, letter, thesis or book, one error looks unprofessional. It is a reflection of you and your work, or your business.
A 5* average rating = 0 errors
A 4.9* average rating = 99% accuracy = 10 errors / 1,000 words
By far the longest serving Freelancer here has posted a document in their portfolio, with their name emblazoned across it, as a sample of their proofreading and editing ability. In it they have still failed to spot 6 simple spelling and grammatical errors in fewer than 300 words, which you can see here:

Clearly this has been an acceptable standard in the past, but I am building a solid reputation based on 100% accuracy. Editing and proofreading requires an exceptional understanding of the English language, as opposed to just being an English speaker.
My background in writing and editing will explain why I have a 98% pass for the top level English 3 exam on Freelancer and why I only have 5* ratings for my proofreading and editing work.
I always respond promptly to messages too!
Kind Regards
David Dundas
