The “IOT data-logger” Project IOT Data-logger for HVAC-R, based on open source platforms. The product -The total cost of the data-logger should not exceed 9usd. We need a solution based on SOC esp32 (or esp8266) and NodeMcu firmware (LUA). -The data-logger should have data storage memory in the absence of available network and backup battery. -Scalability and acceptance of different types of additional sensors (DS18B20 sensor, door sensor, RH, pressure etc) -Up to 8 sensors/data-logger (for the esp8266 multiplexing is needed as it has only one analog input). Connectivity -The firmware (or at least sample rate and other settings) should be updated remotely via internet. -M2M communication should be based on an open source MQTT Broker like Mosquito -Connection with Amazon server (AWS) After this first phase we will need help for: Web page and APP development -"WEB to SMS" with HTTP API -Online management interface with triple access level: end user, technician, supervisor. -End user should see, search, print and export data -Easy changeable settings for data-logging from UI. -Supervisor should set upper and lower limits per client for sample rate / data sending, open close accounts etc. -notification (alert) using SMS under regulated conditions -push notification via APP on android/iphone -email alerts -maybe a solution based on OpenHAB with custom front-end and back-end. Turn key solution is welcomed, but we need to know fixed price for every part of solution pcb design, firmware, webpage, app Budget refers to first phase only (PCB design and firmware)

I have designed multiple ranges of Data-Loggers for two decades they are now used by Defence,Railways and industrial units. ESPXX has an unit price of $20-25 single unit, we can only decrease cost if we manufacture /fabricate /purchase in quantities >5000. Adding 8 sensors will need a glue logic <$0.5. Sensor prices, connectors power source are not included. The Bid include: Schematic BOM Layout Gerber Firmware (original build up on existing off the self board and breadboard while Hardware is fabricated.

I'm an italian electronic engineer with more than 14 years of work experience. I work as HW designer; FW and SW developer. As HW designer, I work in Altium, KiCad and Orcad and I have experience in development single MCU (Microchip PIC and ARM Cortex) boards with several digital I/O (GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C, PWM,....) and some analog I/O. I design complete board: power section, MCU section, peripheral section,.... I design also boards with battery power; so I have experience in low power PCB design. I have also experience in commercial boards (Arduino, Raspberry, Beaglebone,...) shields design. I have also experience in bluetooth (both 2.0 and 4.0) PCB design. As FW developer, usually I work in C for Microchip PIC and Eclipse + GNU ARM for different ARM Cortex M3/M4 manufacturers (but I'm ready to swith to new frameworks). I work both in single task and multi task environment (FreeRTOS). I write code both for low level driver (GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C, PWM....) management and for high level/final application. I work also in "C code" commercial boards Arduino/ESP8266 and Linux embedded commercial boards (Raspberry and Beaglebone). I have also experience in bluetooth (both 2.0 and 4.0) programming. As SW developer, I work in .NET, Java, and lot of others programming languages. Mainly I work for Windows O.S., but I have experience in Linux development too. This is quite similar to a personal project I've completed for realtime power monitoring with the ESP8266. For this I multiplexed 7 current transducers and a voltage sensor to the ESP8266's internal ADC to provide real time power, current and voltage measurements via a custom MQTT broker written in Node.js. Since there was some spare IO ports left over I also added temperature and humidity via a DHT11 sensor and used a few digital IO to control my sprinklers using relays. I've had this running for around a year now without any issues. As a guideline for keeping costs down I would definitely recommend the esp8266 over the ESP32. If programmed in C++ instead of Lua it will definitely meet your cost and performance criteria. Having worked with Lua previously I found many show stopping bugs that would prevent your data logger from working reliably as well as limiting your available features because of the limited code size. PCB designs can be delivered in KiCAD which is well supported by PCB manufacturers. In addition I have all of the design tools required to completely the project already and can start immediately as well as having the skills required to create your web application.
