htaccess cleanup, optimization, improvements

I am looking for an expert who really knows .htaccess files. Mine is a hot mess of 170 about lines, with most of it being redirects, Wordpress plugins/cache and comments. I've always had someone helping me out with it and I only know enough to be dangerous, so I really need help. It would be great if you have Wordpress experience when it comes to .htaccess files, as there are WP-specific lines that can probably be added to improve security, speed and efficiency. It's hard to put a price on this because there are some unknowns. If you've done this a lot and still reading this, please contact me for a copy of my pitiful .htaccess and I can try to explain what I need done. I'd like the comments to be very descriptive, down to describing the syntax if possible, as I barely understand what's going on. I want to learn though, so a little "hand holding" would be great. I have other website-related work to the same site if this goes well. I'm using Litespeed instead of Apache, but that shouldn't matter as they're suppose to be 100% compatible.
