Existing website is based on FrontPage. Redesign to non-proprietary language (PHP) and to allow easy content manager by business owner. Redesign shall incorporate a Wordpress blog.
Website shall also provide interactive tool to clients using the business' website, or an IPhone or Android device so they may obtain product pricing estimates for standard catalog items, as well as solicit product pricing for custom products. Client registration (via website or app) will require client name, company name, address, phone number. An account number and price multiplier (discount schedule) for each product category shall then be established by the business' sales staff for the individual client. Once loaded by the sales staff, an “Account Activation” notice shall be sent to the client.
Product pricing application:
Standard product pricing will be queried, in real-time, from a business owner-managed Excel spreadsheet or Access database available on a server. Standard product pricing queries will calculate net prices based on posted “Product List Prices” and the client's discount schedule.
Custom product pricing inquiries will guide the client to submit the requirements, including any file attachments, to the server for “validation” (issuance of formal price proposal by sales staff).
App functionality:
IPhone/Android application shall allow storing of client-generated “estimates” under client-specified “Job Name” folders at the client's device. This information shall be mirrored via a client account visible via the business' website.
At any time, client may choose to tag a stored “estimate” for “validation”. Tagged items will trigger an email alert for attention by sales staff. Once prepared by the sales dept, and saved on the client's folder and job name subfolder in the server, the formal quote shall be “pushed” to client's device on real time. The client app shall then be able to open, email, print (if device is equipped to do so) or delete the file.
“Job Name” folders shall include a field for “InBid (code 30, default), Negotiating (50), Pending Award (90), or Lost” (0) status tracking. Client shall be able to update status as needed. Client app shall allow filtering by status, job name and estimate date, and shall allow export of filtered data via email on .xls format.
