Objective: To design and code radial basis functions neural network (RBF NN) and multiplayer perceptron (MLP) with backpropagation learning for solving the intertwined spiral learning and classification. Input: The two spirals are presented by x and y coordinates and a teaching signal specifying to which spiral the point belongs. Output: The test set includes a window with uniformly distributed random points. The test set is a square filled with random points. The goal for the network is to form two distinct spirals. There is no “target” signal in the test set for verification. The only way to test performance is to plot it in Matlab and/or Excel with different colors for the two spirals (classes).Visualize the output of your network and its performance by using plotting of spirals in Matlab, graphics in Excel and Matlab for each set of parameters as well as tables.
