React Frontend Dev - Updating and building upon an existing platform

I have an existing online web platform for teaching coding to children built using React. I am looking for a dev interested mostly in front-end for initially updating the existing component library to the latest version of Material UI [currently at version 0.2]. There are also a number of new features I would like to build into the product that I have designed and in a backlog. To be considered for this project, I would like for you to lay out a brief synopsis of your potential approach to how you would update the existing library and what your methodology might be. [this is purely so I can differentiate between genuine responders and canned responses.] We use Github as a software repository and run regular updates to 2 domains [.org & .cn ] If you have experience utilising 3rd party API endpoints to shape product functionality then that is a definite plus. There is an existing full stack dev on the team but his strengths are in product architecture, web services and API integration. Also, any experience working inside the great firewall will definitely be of benefit. Ideally I am looking to build a long term working relationship with someone. To add a small bit of clarity, in the beginning it will be only project based work based on a quote in days per piece of work, but as sales grow I will look to upgrade the agreement to a retainer contract.
