Basic Project- Build a Website

• Produce a zip file which should zip up a single directory in which are all the files necessary for a web shop (including backup of your mysql database) • A word document containing a report called “The Challenges of Web Development” • Host the site on the Jose web server • Supply url of the jose start page for your shop and the url of your [login to view URL] repository The basic code for the shop will be provided from the book “Php and MySql in Easy Steps” - however you will have to extend it to give new features. These basic features involve a product catalogue, a shopping cart, an ordering page, and a forum. New features which you must implement are: 1. Validation of input fields when registering 2. Richer kinds of input fields so we can know more about individual users (for instance address) 3. Remove all html <table>s from the site 4. Visual icons for users And at least 3 of the changes here 1. The ability for administrators add new items to the Shop table 2. The ability to write reports of orders (e.g how many orders in the last month) 3. The ability for users to see a list of all their previous orders 4. The ability for users to "like" a discussion post 5. The ability for users to "sort" the catalogue by price or other features 6. The ability for users to “filter” the items in the catalogue by a search query This data should all be dynamically sourced from a mysql database. All content that appears on your site should be dynamic. You should also write a max 1000 word report called “The Challenges of Web Development” in which you describe how you undertook your site. This should include an entity relationship diagram of your site’s database For this assignment, all images and any text that has been copied and pasted needs to be cited in a bibliography (part of the report not contributing to the word count). Any work which is *significantly derivative*, meaning it takes the majority of its content from a single source, will be regarded as having committed an assessment offence. (However you may use any content in the course book “PHP and MYSQL In Easy Steps”) The rule is, you may incorporate interesting things you have found on the web in your site though these should be little things from many different places. If you have taken a lot from one place it will be regarded as plagiarism.
