I am very interested in this project! I have a great deal of experience writing user manuals, research reports, and proposals in the financial services market. My clients have included Solutions 21 (their client was a multi-billion dollar community bank that needed a teller-training manual revised), Mellon Financial Corporation and Bill Few Associates (a financial planning and brokerage firm). In addition, I have 14 years experience as a marketing director for KPMG in Pittsburgh, 3 years as the marketing director of the area's financial services practice.
This is my first bid! Not to complain, but I wish I had more information. First, does your project include illustration? I think it would be really cool to have illustrated characters "speaking" key points. The illustrations wouldn't have to be too sophisticated, so I might be able to do them, but that would take longer than 5 days. How important is the length of time to complete the first draft?
I also would love to see the website / logo / visual communications style you prefer. If I'm using "stock" photography you've already selected, then that affects the bid. If I need to research images, that takes time, as you can imagine. Of course, if you were thinking that illustration / graphics might compromise the ability to download the manual and you were just looking for a type treatment, that makes everything easier.
Putting these caveats aside, why should you select me? Dead on experience in this area. I am counseling someone(I'm a business coach and I writer) who is on the verge of bankruptcy and needs to know whether to sell her house / renegotiate the terms of her debt / or get another job. Having just gotten this assignment, we are in the process of investigating debt consolidation plans, as well as HUD guidelines so will have a wealth of information already at my fingertips. Second, I have a proven track record as a writer and would be delighted to provide references. Third, I'm easy to work with and knowledgeable in technology that may make your task easier that you currently believe. Lastly, as my first project, I will give you consideration on pricing.
Hope this peaks your interest. The bid I'm giving is HIGH because it's assuming the worst case in terms of graphics treatment: Perhaps as many as 15 illustrations. Looking forward to working with you.
