Fact Checker and Proof Reader for a Memoir of Sorts

Aloha and thank you for your interest. The Manuscript is about 105,000 words. About 1/20 of needs to be double-fact checked. I have done much research. Your position would be to double check the facts and history; that they come from the most reputable and current source, also be sure the content supports the memoir and if appropriate, incorporated better into the story. I would have you build the resource section, do citations & endnotes, check quotes. Ultimately, the same person would be doing the final proofreading and get book cleaned up for a printer. Soil to Soul, Evolution of an Eco-Bohemian Entrepreneur is a business memoir of sorts and a shout-out to innovators, entrepreneurs, and passionate people of all generations to interconnect, to awaken and take action in response to the pressing questions and challenges of our time. Most of my words were inspired and written while immersed in Nature. They come from my soul, connected to the sacred Hawaiian shorelines where I spend most of my time these days when I’m not in the rugged, raw, and rare beauty of Alaska. Depending on your age, the stories you read in this book will either remind you of a familiar bygone era or shed light on how much has changed in sixty years. Soil to Soul is a snapshot of one woman’s life—my personal anecdotes of pioneering what we might today call a food revolution and being a voice for Nature. It is a look at the time I grew up in, along with 67 million other baby boomers, and how the ethos of that time shaped our attitudes toward consumption. This has brought us to where we are today—to the challenges we face and the incredible opportunities to develop progressive, humanitarian, and environmental solutions. The stories follow my life’s timeline, growing up in the radical ’60s and ’70s in a middle-class suburban town in New Jersey, and describe how I evolved into an Eco-Bohemian. My influential alternative college years led me to become an organic farmer and a businesswoman. I first started an organic farm/bakery in Olympia, Washington. Then, journeying farther north, I founded the first “green” natural foods bakery and café in Alaska. Who would have thought this was possible for a twenty-five-year-old flower-child hippie with a degree in social ecology and organic agriculture? This would eventually lead to launching an international food brand, which opened doors to a life in Hawaii where I lead retreats and love being part of building community and known to many as “Mama Donna.’ Like any creative Bohemian who does things unconventionally, I share my journey in six evolutionary phases, each of which is divided into cycles instead of chapters, honoring the life cycle of a tree. Full of highs and lows, the stories are interwoven with heartfelt wisdom and nine Soil-to-Soul Principles that encourage an interconnection between Nature and one’s innermost humanity. I guide you toward solutions, communities, and businesses successfully collaborating with the Earth’s natural systems. At the end of each Evolution is a Digging Deeper section with further insights of the times that reflect upon my transformations.
