Project Overview
This is a comparison shopping builder based on the Shopzilla web services API. This script will generate a shopping comparison site based on Shopzilla web service.
Editing the config file will allow users to set the root catalog for the site.
This root catalog can be any node in the Shopzilla catagory structure, and the script will then generate a comparison shopping site similar to shopzilla.com.
For example by specifing the node for mens shoes, the site will be about mens shoes and will contain the relevant sub categories and will short by manufacturer, vendor, price like the [url removed, login to view] web site.

Project Overview
This is a comparison shopping builder based on the Shopzilla web services API. This script will generate a shopping comparison site based on Shopzilla web service. Editing the config file will allow users to set the root catalog for the site. This root catalog can be any node in the Shopzilla catagory structure, and the script will then generate a comparison shopping site similar to shopzilla.com. This allows a user to download a simple PHP script that will work in basic web hosting environments such Hostgator, Dreamhost or Fatcow. (These are the target hosting platforms that are required to support. The application will be tested on these hosting environments.)
I want a script like

Here are the sequence of events based on the user interaction
User downloads the application from our web site.
User configures the configuration file with their user specific information
User uploads application to the target hosting environment
User changes DNS for the application to respond according to their hosting company's instructions.
Application begins responding as shopping comparison engine.
Actors: Site Administrator, end-users (users of the downloaded application who are comparison shoppers), and our customers (people who download and install the application in their hosting environment)
Experience of a user on the shopping application. The user experience on the shopping application will be highly similar to the users experience at Shopzilla.com. User can search for matching products based on keyword. Once they have selected a product, they can see prices from multiple online merchants, They can then click on the product link to be taken to the merchants web site to complete their order.
Site Behaviour: The site will have the identical category structure from the initial root category specified in the configuration file. This means that the specified root becomes the new root of the category structure
Configuration File: The program will have site configuration file which will contain the following information to be used as a variables in the application.
Hostname (URL)
Site Name (Name Displayed in the Header of the application)
Application Version
Twitter Account/password SMS posting via skype.
Root Category: (This is defined by the Shopzilla API).
Shopzilla ID
Ebay PID
Site Administrator Email
Ebay Webservices Key
Display Ebay Results (1/0)
Display [url removed, login to view] Results (1/0)
Template to Be USED
URL Structure: URL structure is specified by the site administrator. This will consist of product name, category or ID structure. No special characters are to be used in the URL.
Page elements
Presentation must be seperated from the underlying business logic.
Individual product pages should be lightweight and quick to load.
Title Tags and meta page elements (description, keywords) should reflect the on page content and be drawn from it.(A page showing prices for the playstation 3 should pull the title from the product title and meta description should be drawn from product description).
Pages should be easily indexable by all robot crawlers.

The root catalog is set by specifying the catalog id in the config file. This the catalog is then allows users to crawl the tree that is generated
