We require an CMS developer who can both advise on project requirements and devote their time and expertise to our Content / Document Management System project. We aren't listing the usual "you need vast PHP / MySQL / Sharepoint skills", as we are still seeking advice as to which system we should use, if we are using an 'off-the-shelf' package, or whether we need a fully bespoke system. As such, this could be an opportunity to have a real say in the framework of the project from the very beginning. Brief details: GOAL Develop a web-accessible portal / data library, making available both stored electronic documents and links to external websites. ESSENTIAL DESIGN REQUIREMENTS - Standard WYSIWYG webpage maintenance interface, requiring no HTML knowledge. - Content needs to be searchable by a combination of metadata and free text within the documents - We require a number of distinct attributes / tags from a repertoire of types (e.g. free text, number, date, picklist), and the option to display constricted options on the search interface (multi-select lists, checkboxes etc.) - Also, we require content indexing compatibility with a wide range of file types (.doc, .pdf, .xls, .ppt etc.) - Automatic archiving / review date alert capability - Open access (no logins required) to most content, although require limitations on access to certain assets based on user authorisation (In the initial stage we require only 1 superuser account, but will progress to a hierarchy of contributors and editors) NOT ESSENTIAL, NICE TO HAVE - Dynamic folders / view types to generate dynamic content (note: dynamic content in the form of displaying search results are an essential requirement). - Ability to add widgets to embed content from external sources (e.g. RSS feeds) - Search ranking by user rating, and/or computed relevance - Search success / failure monitoring or feedback capability So if you think you can help, please do get in touch with details of your rates, experience (particularly any commercial examples you have in your portfolio), and whatever you think you can uniquely add to this project.
