We're looking for someone! Someone passionate about building stylish, content-oriented WordPress blogs that have a 'full website' feel to them.
Weâre experts at developing content ... using 1998 methods! HTML/CSS/FTP with no CMS whatsoever won't cut it any more - it's time to get modern, but weâve no time to become WordPress experts.
Weâre a small but established web content publisher who is branching out into new areas. We expect to have launched the first 2-3 sites before the end of March and a further 2-4 sites before the end of June, or sooner if it makes sense. We have chosen the apparently unbeatable WordPress platform to launch them.
Our passion is content and we are looking for someone who knows the world and workings of WordPress inside out, and can help us launch these sites in an efficient and rapid manner on a one-off project basis (although of course we may come back for more).
We already have hosting, domain names, and sites launched to the 'Hello World' stage and now ready to do the serious stuff, obviously. We want a commercial, 'full website' look and feel to these sites, and we want Wordpress to be completely transparent.
We already have a design template to hand, valid HTML/CSS markup for it, but one of your key skills is taking and manipulating source code into Wordpress tempates to create new, modified, adapted and valid, stylish new sites from it, and you are a seasoned pro who is confident with HTML and CSS in the first place.
The more well-rounded your skills are the better: ideally the successful applicant is great with graphics, and can not only handle the basics of slicing, optimising and implementation of graphics for the sites (as necessary) but also maybe help in basic branding for some of the sites and also be proactive in just generally helping to make them look/feel how weâd like them to.
Having rock solid PHP skills will also likely be a major advantage in the project, weâd imagine. Our background is ASP so we donât have a clue about it.
You are familiar with the world of WP plugins and stuff so that your resourcefulness can offer us the best widgets like front rotator/carousel.
You have an instinct for building communities and know the best ways to engage community, familiar with commenting and forum implementations.
