Sameer Showkin L.

I'm Sameer, a public policy professional with 10 years of experience in India's non-profit and impact consulting sector. After graduating with a degree in Computer Science from the University of Kashmir, and a Post Graduation in Mass Communication & Journalism, I've charted my own course through India's top Media Organisations and social impact sector - building key skills, discovering opportunities and honing my areas of interest. I started my journey as a Reporter where I reported on civic issues and lately on crucial political and administrative issues. Post my stint as a Journalist with India Today, ScoopWhoop and other news organisations, I transitioned to the impact consulting sector to work with Niti Aayog as Aspirational District Fellow, on their largest programme under direct monitoring of the Prime Minister of India. Here, we've built the nation's largest repository of policies, best practices, and data sets, enabling informed decision making in policies and projects across all levels of the government. I look forward to working in the development sector and I am passionate about helping other young professionals navigate the sector and eventually contribute to the growing social impact movement at large.
