Design and simulation of MPPT based charging controller with battery health monitoring-An Overview

IEEEP

Maximum power point tracking device is used to extract maximum energy from solar panels in order to increase the efficiency of a solar powered system. It works on the principle of buck chopper with same power output as input. Charge controller performs the operation of controlled charging in order to protect the system from over/under charging. Battery health monitoring is done to protect batteries from over-current and over-temperature. This paper gives an overview of these devices.
