Acoustic-Seismic Monitoring System
An ongoing research project utilising acoustic (microphone) and seismic (geophone) sensors to collect information from the deployed location. The system carries out internal processing to determine the nature of the event and this information is transferred via RF to a central location for location and tracking to take place. The system is primarily designed to detect, classify, locate, and track a number of events such as explosions, gunfire, low-level aircraft, vehicles, and personnel. It also has applications in earthquake monitoring, mining and exploration, and environmental monitoring.
