Writers are a curious lot. We spin tales with our imaginations for our own amusement until one day we find ourselves saying, “I should probably write that down.” Writing a book can be an enormous undertaking, and is often an overwhelmingly lonely task, but when we’ve accomplished the impossible and realize we’ve had a blast doing it, it’s suddenly time to face the daunting world of publishing. Time to turn over our pride and joy, our blood sweat and tears to be slaughtered in a sea of red ink and re-writes. Wouldn’t it be nice to present your work to a group of writers and editors whose only interest is to help you create a great story, give you advice and a little confidence before you head out into the publishing world, hopefully a little more knowledgeable than when you first arrived? Here at The Writer Lab, we’d like to think we’ve created a safe environment to foster creativity in a stress-free environment. We just want to practice our craft and help you make your work shine whether your goal is finding an agent to represent you to the publishing community or you think you might like to self publish. We work with authors from all walks of life. From non-fiction works, memoirs and self-help to scifi, epic fantasy and young adult. We will help you polish your nearly complete manuscript or help you get started with an outline, we’ll even walk you though the entire process and help you decide what your next steps should be.
