I was tasked with producing a visual workflow for an international manufacturing company to show all of the items produced in their UK factory. The document had to be updated regularly and the users needed to be able to drill down and will the detail behind the visualization. In order to achieve this I created an FTP connection to the clients data and added the option to automatically update this information each hour. I then set about using complex functions to locate determine the whereabouts of the items, finally displaying the results in a very each to understand diagram. As an added feature I added filter boxes to the left of the chart and a pop-up search form to enable the users to search for specific requirements and filter the results accordingly. I also added buttons to each of the work stations so the users could quickly click on the unit and view the unit and see what items where there as well as what was due to arrive later in the schedule.

Initially I started in the Procurement Department where I automated the calculation of material requirements using my Excel and VBA Skills. After creating a production schedule tool and various other tools that enhanced the efficiency of the department I moved onto the IT Department where I currently work today. I'm now responsible for providing people with visualizations for many departments throughout the business so transactions and movement of products can be tracked and easily located.
