Looking to build a complete ecommerce store for a promotional merchandise company from scratch. The project will require some graphic design and html programming to build the theme, knowledge of the software to install and set up, then some programming to customise the software.
The company sells promotional merchandise such as pens, calendars, keyrings mugs etc. They are looking for a new web site so that they can sell these items online. This project will be a complete set up of the store. You will be required to install joomla/virtuemart, create a new template design, code the template and implement, customise the software to add some custom fields, add a payment provider, import products from an excel spreadsheet then move the site from a testing environment to a live url.
Design:
The company are looking for a theme that is mainly white with touches of red and grey similar. They like the look of the following sites which can be used for inspiration:

The header should have the company name, tagline, telephone number and a picture of someone on the phone which you will source.
Layout
As with the example sites, the template will have categories going across the top of the page horizontally. The left menu should be the best selling products.
The homepage should have the ability to feature products as with this site: [login to view URL] with a space above for some freetext.
When a category is clicked from the top menu, the user should then be presented with a page of sub categories (if appropriate) then products.
Products
All of the product information is in an excel spreadsheet with corresponding images, there are around 1500 products to be imported into the site. The product total will be calculated on quantity, then there will be anther charge added for ‘origination’ plus a charge for carriage plus the option to add extra colours on some products which again will effect the cost. I think this may require some customisation of the Virtuemart software. All information will be provided in an excel spreadsheet.

Workflow
Upon starting the project you will be required to prepare a first design of the homepage of the site in the first week. You should then allow 48 hours for feedback and amends, following this round the client will sign off the design and you can then design the category and product pages. Again, these will be presented back to the client for feedback and once approved you will go ahead and great the fully functional site then import the data.
