(RE-POSTED PROJECT: I made a mistake in setting the budget, so I have closed the former project, and have created this one).
This project involves the conversion of a number rating into a win % probability (and decimal odds) for every runner in a horse race.
This example data set has around 500 runners. I want a simple GUI, so I can load files that are the same format as this example file (however they will be MUCH larger).
In order to achieve what needs to happen, the following steps need to occur:
Step 1: Identify and separate each race. (This can be done by either detecting a change in column B or column K).
Step 2: Extract the 'CP rating'. This is in column Y. Also keep reference information from column A to H. Everything else can disposed of.
Step 3: The rating from column Y is used as part of a formula to generate a win % probability and decimal odds. An example of how to do this is attached.
Step 4: Generate a new file with information from columns A to H, keep column Y, and the new calculated win % probabilities and decimal odds.
There are two slightly different methods I want to test. Therefore two slightly different files will be generated.
