Super Simple 3D Animation with 3D Max

This is for a school project, so it has to be super simple!
I already have everything modeled, the scenario (a simple kitchen), and the characters (a peanut and a bean), the animation has to be between 1:30 and 2 min. It is a super simple animation, you have to put the 2 characters entering the kitchen, going on a table, then they talk a bit (close up of each one talking to the other), and then a knife comes and cut them in half. The audio will be done by us, so you just have to take the 3d file i have and animate it. I will give more details of the story line after.
It has to be done in 3D Max.
