We are a company who are in the pipeline integrity management (Oil and Gas) business. Some of our projects require us to perform GPS Mapping of the pipelines, wherein we collect data (Latitude-Longitude, Northing-Easting, MSL-HAE) every 50-100 metres for each individual pipeline. So for a pipeline of say, 10 km length, we would have nearly 200 data points, each having the above-mentioned data. We need this to be plotted on a map of a pre-decided scale (Would look similar to an AutoCAD Plot Plan), but with the actual satellite image of the region on the background of the same scale, so that when we take an A0 print, instead of a simple AutoCAD file it will be an actual map. This is the primary requirement.
Some of these pipelines may have certain defect locations/leaks or irregularities at some locations. These will be highlighted in comments section during GPS Mapping. We would require these locations to be color-coded so that it becomes easy to interpret. Ideally though, we would like to have a program written wherein we can apply filters (similar to Excel Columns) and the specific regions get highlighted. (See Uploaded Sample)
