My project is relatively large, but at this point I’m just looking for a programmer to complete a couple of initial steps. If these are completed well and to my satisfaction, there will be more work, potentially for a long time. My preference is to work with the same person on the whole project and pay by the hour after each successfully completed step and thorough testing. That person needs to be able to communicate in very good English so that our continued and frequent communication is easy and I can convey the sophisticated requirements.
The application takes input from the user in the form of birth data.
With this birth data it then calculates a set of planetary positions (as in astrology) by accessing first the ACS PC Atlas and then the Swiss Ephemeris.
Based on the resulting planetary positions and a set of rules it draws an individual .svg graphic and displays it and the pertinent data on screen, plus, upon demand, on a printable pdf chart.
These initial steps of calculation and drawing have already been programmed using php, but both input and output are in crude form. The task now is to refine both input and output to conform to a dynamically changing interface I have designed in a mock-up.
If you are considered to work on the project, you will be given access to an online version of this mock-up so that you can see how the end result must look.
The application will support unlimited users and each user may enter unlimited individual birth data, which means there will be a database to store all the data and retrieve it again. While this is not part of the initial steps I’m asking for here, it may be important for you to know what’s coming next and you also must be capable to design that database.
In addition, while the initial, individual calculation and drawing have already been programmed, there will be additional sophistication of both calculations and drawings required in future steps, so you must be able to understand and expand on the steps already taken.
