Custom sort in search and categories on Prestashop 1.6.1.18

We would like to have a field in Prestashop database where we can add a search weight for a product. eg 1 to 100. The higher the number, the higher it's position in the search results and the category listings. This field will be filled from MS Access with an ODBC connection to MYSQL server.
