Graphic Artist - Web Design - Temp

We are a small company with a few service-oriented community web sites (one for amateur athletes, one for non-profit organizations, and one for schools/universities) and we'd like to refresh the look of our sites for next year.?

We have an HTML/CSS/Layout person on staff, but we don't have a graphic artist and would like a fresh perspective on our sites, with the goal of coming up with a few change ideas for each site that can be implemented simply.? We don't want to redesign our sites, which are all database-driven, but we do want them to look fresher.? The change ideas might be:

-- new graphics on the home page (we don't want to change any of the logos),

-- new color scheme ideas,

-- new background images,

-- revised layout of the home page,

-- additional artwork/graphics that would add to the look and feel of the home page,

-- ideas for livening up our navigation, etc.?

Each site has to be logged into to use, and because the sites are 'on-line applications' the interior pages are all simple and light (don't have a lot of graphics or large source files so that they remain quick-loading).? So, we DO NOT want any suggestions to involve Flash, or any large files/images.

Responsibilities will include consulting with us over a several week period, which will involve working with our layout person.? We expect an experienced designer to be able to complete this work in about 15-30 hours.

The work includes:

-- reviewing the three sites,

-- producing designs, prototypes and graphical ideas ? for changes to the sites (2-3 ideas each),

-- interact with our layout person to review the ideas, refining them to 1-2 changes per site, and

-- prepare and send us the HTML/CSS/JS + graphic files so that we can simply implement the changes we choose.

**Requirements**

- **Must** provide online portfolio for review

- **Must** be able to start ASAP, and complete work within 2-3 weeks

- Any art work produced for this project must be original
