We are a small accommodation company, in the process of redesigning our website to give it a new fresh look, increase speed and to implement a booking system. We have with the help of a developer created a WordPress plugin for the booking system we intend to use, and we are currently working with a Figma designer to create the design for the new site.
We are seeking a talented and experienced developer to create the new WordPress site and apply the Figma design to the site and booking plugin. The site will consist of five major pages, several minor pages and WooCommerce cart/checkout. All complex functionality is in the booking plugin which is already connected to WooCommerce. The rest of the site will be easy elements of text, images and basic WordPress functions.
Since the booking plugin is the backbone of the site It´s important that you understand the plugin and have the skills to help with the development if needed. The plugin uses jQuery and some elements from bootstrap.
If you are interested in this job will send you a screenshot of figma draft and a link to our test site with live version of the booking plugin.
Website features we are looking for:
We want the site to be very fast. Minimal requirements: 95%+ PageSpeed Insights with the following minimal metrics, First Contentful Paint: 0.5s, Speed index: 1s, Fully Loaded Time: 2s.
SEO-Friendly: We aim to maintain our position on the first page of relevant Google searches.
Responsive: As 50% of our visitors use mobile devices, we have created Figma designs for both desktop and mobile.
Clean code that Google will love.
No page builders except for the block editor.
No bloat.
LiteSpeed cache.
We are thinking about using Astra theme, as it seems to very fast and got many useful features for the site. If there are faster options, we prefer those however.
