Design or Illustrate a Realistic Treasure Map for a summer camp activity

Hi All -
I volunteer for a summer camp, we have a Treasure Hunter theme this year...we need to illustrate/design a Treasure Map. The map will have different points of interest that we'll provide (think "Diamond Ridge", "Pond of Doom", etc) that coincide with our summer camp. The treasure map needs to stylistically come across as "realistic", not "cartoony". I've provided a couple of examples...the style is important. Shading, detailed work is required. Design around the map edging etc not required, we're having these printed on actual distressed paper items. Please provide a couple of examples of similar design work.
