Design an icon for a mobile app

  Hello everybody! I gave it a lot of thought, and after careful consideration I finally settled for the one design that will become my app icon: the one by Adrianna which nailed it from the beginning, and which unsurprisingly was also liked a lot by other people.
  
  I did not pick it immediately so I could consider every other proposals and alternative ideas in depth, even the most crazy. Some designs where very good but probably for something else, like a company logo, a game or a Warhol painting :) Special thanks to S M Samiul A for that.
  
  I want to thank everybody for their time when trying these directions. Many of you have a good hear and good eye. I’m keeping a list of people here I might contact in the future if I need to do future work for this project or others!

     Thank you for this beautiful contest. I appreciate the way you give feedback and let us know whats on your mind. It really helps the designers to understand the right way. Most of the contest holders doesn't have time to provide any feedback & most of those doesn't have any respect to the work done by a person for the contest. You're different. Thank you.

  Hey there again! I wanted to share with you my opinion on three designs I like:
  
  #48 : I would totally expect this kind of design for a consumer mobile app. It makes me think of Instagram, What’sApp, Revolut, Wire, CityMapper…. mobile app icons, being a colourful line shape. To be specific, I like this particular design because it is elegant and balanced, intriguing, too: you wonder "what the heck does this app do, why is there a tag on the plant" while you tap on it in the app store. They will find later that’s it’s not about plants but it doesn’t matter: they looked at the app description. If someone "normal" install it because they thought it was for plants.. well all the better. To get back to the design: this particular orange color is warm but not aggressive like red, so it should be stimulating and makes you want to have fun while browsing, sorting and tagging your inventory.

     #154 : I like this one for complete different reasons: the sharp cut and the color looks slightly intimidating and makes it look like an icon for a professional tag management tool rather a mainstream consumer app, or maybe the logo for a tag technology company which my app is not..yet! Also, it is a coincidence but I actually have plans to support contactless tags, and this icon logo design happens to looks a bit like an antenna..
     
     So.. that’s it! Just wanted to publicly share my thoughts on a few designs, because I think it can helps everybody. There is nothing definitive and I’m still continuing to review the other designs!

  Hello everybody! A little clarification: I chose to leave the contest unsealed on purpose, and rated proposals ASAP so that everybody can see what kind of design will work or not work, like a brainstorming session to quickly converge in the right direction.
  
  Now I understand this approach has its drawbacks and can lead to copycats (the "tag on the plant" is very popular! but well.. it was part of the brief). I will have more design to do in the future (for the app itself) and will try the sealed contest next time. But right now, don't worry I obviously won't reward those who simply take the designs with the most stars and add a dot, a line or "M" in it, that's wouldn't be fair, and wouldn't work anyway since I give a high rate when I believe there is not much to add or remove.

  Lot of lovely little icons around here! I started to give some constructive feedback when possible :) Note: I rejected some of the icons that I believe are not appropriate for a mobile app (for instance too much text or looking so generic that they could be used for a different app and no-one would see the difference)
