Development of indoor navigation software for intelligent wheelchair

Innovations in Intelligent SysTems and Applications (INISTA)
The applications such as guidance of disabled people, applications for security, visitor tracking, address mapping, the organization of services, automatic tourist guidance etc. are also needed for indoor environments. In this study, location-based navigation software has been developed for indoor environment. New plug-ins are added to navigation software,so that it can be used in Intelligent Wheelchair (ATEKS) systems, too. Thus, the software is specialized for autonomous robot application.

Nowadays, location based navigation applications for multilayered and complex indoor environments have become an important need. Navigation software for outdoor are improved and widely used, although for indoor navigation studies are needed. In this study, location-based navigation software has been developed for indoor locations. With plugins to navigation software, it can be used in Intelligent Wheelchair system too. All improvements are designed for Android platform.

Comprehensive Indoor Remote Tracking System

In this study, indoor positioning system for remote tracking (U-TAKİP) has been developed. Using sensor network which will be set in the area and K-NN algorithm on the central server remote tracking (people / objects) system has been developed. As signal resource wearable or portable Bluetooth Low Energy tags was used. Use areas of the application is defined as personnel tracking, patient tracking, child tracking, logistics tracking.

Indoor Mobile Navigation Software for Blind People

ME-NAV helps visually impaired people when they are walking at indoor locations with safety and voice-guided navigation. ME-NAV calculates the position of the user with K-NN algorithm and calculates the shortest path between current position and target point with A* algorithm. The shortest path is transferred to user with voice-guided navigation system. ME-NAV also gives audible warning to call help when the user fall detected.

A novel multi-sensor and multi-topological database for indoor positioning on fingerprint techniques

Innovations in Intelligent SysTems and Applications (INISTA)
We propose a novel fingerprint database that contains both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth RSS values in addition to magnetic field measurements obtained from mobile devices. In addition to this, the proposed database also contains Wi-Fi, Bluetooth (BT) and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) RSS values obtained from preplaced sensor nodes in the experimental environment. The aims of this fingerprint database are to enhance accuracy, precision, and robustness of the location estimation system.
