The objective of the Project is to gain an understanding of the principles of the management of civil engineering works, projects and operations. The ability to manage across a number of disciplines and functions within a civil engineering context is an essential skill for the civil engineer in a management role

A portfolio is to be prepared which will have a section for each of the following aspects of civil engineering management.
This is related to a work-based situation demonstrating the application of an appropriate civil engineering management system for a project or operation.

Quality Management System

Financial and Commercial Systems
Human Resources Management
The Brief
An individual portfolio of A4 size in a ring bound folder with clearly indicated. You are required to prepare a typed report not exceeding 4000 words addressing all the requirements in the brief above in a clear and concise manner.
An introductory section explaining the purpose of the document and its contents will be required.
Each section will be preceded by a single explanatory page. Sample documents relevant to the section will be included.
The final section will be:
1) a document control process to ensure relevancy accuracy and currency.
2) A summary page of proposed new procedures to improve your business/area
The report should be well written and presented. The projects used as case studies should be clearly stated. The use of charts, tables and other illustrations to simplify and facilitate understanding of processes are strongly recommended
