I'm a mechanical engineer - specialized in the industrial robotic field, 3D designer and modeler (from time to time and some projects I could make the functional prototype too). I'm doing product design, industrial design, reverse engineering, ideation, etc. I have over 15 years experience working on various systems/devices across multiple industries, from concept to launch. 1 - here is not about a conversion... is necessary to create the 3d model for the thumb and the other 4 fingers, later by layer (the image shows 3 different layers...) 2 - i assume is about a kind of rubber in order to have enough elasticity and be "impact resistant" 3 - the outcome will be iges, step, x_t, stl and 3d pdf files ready for prototyping/manufacturing Regards Bogdan
