Hi. Probably I’m the person you need for your project. Why? Because for two years I worked as a leading software engineer on e-signature project targeting US healthcare segment. I believe that your project as you described it is overlapping by 80% with the job I did on that e-signature project. The system backend was implemented on .NET platform specifically with ASP.NET MVC and ASP.NET WebAPI. Input document format was either multiframe TIFF or PDF. In any case each page of background document was rasterized to separate PNG. System supported following types of fields to be imposed onto background documents’ pages: Signature, Text, CurrentDate, CheckBox, RadioButton and DropDown. Barcodes are also supported as specific kind of Text Field. The fields layouts for each document (including the fields positions, fonts, styles, etc.) were internally stored (and transferred via API) in JSON format. These layouts could be created with web-based Layout Designer or with REST API. The API also provided the functionality allowing to fill the reusable layouts with data, manage document workflow, etc. Once the fields layout and data (text data or graphical signatures) for the specific document were ready these data were imposed onto the document’s background pages PNGs. We also did backend image scaling to fit mobiles. I believe that my experience with that project virtually exactly fits your requirements. I can give you further details if you’re interested. Hi, my name is Matt Sergei (do call me Matt) and can create the web server solution for composite images (24 years a webmaster and IT developer, doing CSS/SVG/javascript animations/visualizations with GreenSock and D3.js libraries for 5+ years). (expanding this bid as promised) Hopefully you're not constrained with using .NET architecture. The solution would be done using Node.js and I have several parts already created or can reuse them from previous projects. The hardest part is calculating the text to fit in the available space and either raster or vector (better) approach can be used. The raster approach includes creating a text from your JSON file(s) passed in the hidden canvas than calculating metrics of the displayed text. With that established a font size is adjusted if needed. Composing (merging) such blocks of text and image (raster) image provided is trivial. The vector approach is better since text would be an SVG (text) object. This would ensure (more) crisp quality of text at any resolution requested and the idea is to use provided JPG/PNG file as a background. Then that is saved as JPG/PNG. Here double saving e.g. 2x compression method for JPG might decrease the image quality yet this goes for raster approach as well. In that case it would be better to construct SVG objects separately and then merge them (overlay) on an image. Outputting/serving PNG/JPG and SVG (with vector images code) is the easiest task.
