I have a broad understanding of stepper motors, using both voltage controlled boards and current controller boards. Also, I have been using Raspberry Pi for custom developments for three years. I have read the description of the project. I am capable of developing the touch app using Kivy, I would suggest using a Raspberry Pi touch screen. We could use another one based on your size needs. For the stepper motors, I would like to know if you want to use a controller in particular, or how much information you have on this, maybe at this point you have available which motors you want to be able to control and their specs? I'm an experienced developer with a keen interest in the Raspberry Pi. I've worked on many Pi related projects using various input/output boards. I have a lot of Pi hardware and sensors, so should have most of what you are intending to use. What stepper motor and control board are you planning on using - I would want to get the same hardware for testing. I would be very interested in working with you on your indexer project.

Hi, I'm an electronic engineer with more than 5 years of experience in Raspberry pi based embedded systems development. I've decided to apply for this project because I have previous experience related to these type of projects many times. I have worked with different types of touch screens to setup system parameters and activate motors and other devices. A most recent project I did relate to this was an automatic timelapse/panorama taker for a photographer. He would input time and number of photos to be taken. Then the rpi would turn the motor to specific locations and number of counts and take the picture. I believe the given experience is a good example of I can handle this project. For your project also I find it similar and since you are using a stepper motor, it's easier to have a count of a number of turns. I would like to discuss you about the touch screen you are using. If it's a rpi HDMI/CSI output based touch screen, I would suggest using 7-inch touch screen. Or else we can use any other touch screen as well. Depending on the touch screen you would choose, we cna select the programming method to choose. I'm looking forward to hearing back from you. Thank you Anusha

This sounds like a relatively simple application to develop. I wouldn't imagine it would take more than a few days to complete, perhaps a week at most. I've created many state machine type programs so far in my career. I'm curious as to what this device will be used for, and information on what the different modes will entail. Hi, As I can understand, what you need is to, 1. Touch screen to select the RPM, number of counts 2. When enter the trigger through the touch screen, the motor should turn at the configured RPM and stop after the number of counts. 3. Then the motor stop and wait for the next instruction from the touch screen. 4. If ths system restarted still the motor should work as given steps and RPM and stop. Hope that's what you looking for. I have done this before by using Arduino and PIC (for an automated cloth cutting machine). I'm sure I can move the work to the Raspebrry Pi. Can I know the specifications about the stepper motor i.e. how many phases, model number and voltage ratings? we need to properly design the power handling as well. Cheers, Fernando
