I am seeking a programmer to design a custom application. This company purchases products on eBay and sells on both eBay and Amazon marketplaces. They want to keep track of purchases, sales, and profit through a spreadsheet on Google Drive. So, for example, let's say they buy product XYZ by company ABC for $50. They then sell it for $100 on Amazon. They want the sale on Amazon to be attributed to that product and to calculate the profit. There can be multiple ways of this being done, including: 1) email scraping 2) actually having the software login to the ebay and amazon accounts and scrape the data. (Important Note: the listing on eBay might be called "Product XYZ" and on Amazon the item number may be listed just in the listing details. So the software would have to be built with a backup method to enter in the part number, in case the software does not recognize.) Hello there! I can help you implement the first suggested route - email scraping. In my view this is the only stable and reliable way to do it. Any kind of scraping beyond the login is a massive hustle full of dealing with captures, access limitations and timeouts. Both eBay and Amazon have standardized emails, which are relatively parseable. What we would need would be a Google Sheets script set on hourly timer, which would scan the Gmail account and find new emails from eBay and Amazon and take info from there. In regards to the recognizing the item by the number or name, there will have to be standardized approach to this. Say the item Id number has to be mentioned at least somewhere during the sale, which will let us find it in the incoming mail. Scripts don't do guesswork as of yet. The script will scrape the listing details from ebay and amazon, using the existing APIs, and reformat them into your desired format. It will be designed to stay within the API access rate limits set by both websites.
