Our Ruby-on-Rails developer quit his job and we are now looking for someone who can replace him, working as a freelancer xx hours a week. We decided to use this first project as a knowledge and fit test, as we want to make sure not only that you are an experienced RoR coder but also that we get along each other and like the way you work. Please bid only if you are interested in working together a few hours a week for the next months, as this is not meant to be a typical 1-off freelancer project. This first project is all about deploying our RoR app on our hosting and make sure everything works (DB, SSL, etc.) We host our app on Digital Ocean (Ubuntu 12.04 or 14.04 + rbenv + mongodb + unicorn (or passenger or puma) + nginx). You will be deploying both production and development servers and configure [login to view URL] so that we both will be able to deploy with 1 click going forward. Your next project will be about reviewing the code we have built so far and improve it: adding security, adding a CDN to speed up image loading, suggesting on-page SEO, building a calendar + booking system, integrating stripe or braintree to process credit card transactions, etc) Once again, you are now bidding only to deploy the app, no further development will be carried out for this task (you will be only configuring the server and make sure all is correct).
