Hi, Your project seems very interesting to me. I think betfair has an API which can help us to easily get some data from it. As you already mentioned the bot will work on 2 principle, so It'll be easy to automate. As a technology I think I'll use Node.js if the bot requires asynchronous calls from the server. otherwise I'll use php. Also, I think I'll use redis to save and update data very fast. I have done similar betfair bots, with betfair live score support using either api or web api live score data. My betfair app is called bfexplorer.
