We scan paper documents to PDF files for storage. We have been using the attached customized program to do the job but over time (as we’ve moved from XP, to Win7, and now Win 10) the program seems to error / crash more frequently.
The program you’ll write needs to allow us to input a customer number (1234) and scan documents. If the file ([url removed, login to view]) doesn’t exist, then software should create the directory 1234 and a file named [url removed, login to view] If [url removed, login to view] does exist, then the software needs to append the scan to the end of the existing 1234.pdf.
The software will need an admin section to identify the base directory (as an example D:\test), and the DPI.
A few notes:
1. Only 1 person at a time can scan to the same file so there has to be some type of locking mechanism.
2. We use twain compatible scanners. Most of our scanners are USB, but a nice feature would be the ability to use scanner on the network.
3. The attached program does what I need but it was written 10 years ago. The other attachment is a screenshot of one of the errors.
